Last week we looked at the bucket of love; this week’s topic is the bucket of trust, in which I like to include our safety, shelter, and security.
I think this bucket is often under-rated. Our entire culture operates on trust…
- business owners trust we will pay for the products we leave the store with
- on the road, we trust other drivers will stay in their lane and obey the rules
- in our relationships, we trust others won’t share details we’ve told them in confidence
…but do we fully appreciate how much our ability to trust and be trusted impacts our wellbeing?
Here are five questions to ponder about our trust buckets.
For context: In April 2022, I started a series exploring five different areas of our wellbeing. I like to call them “buckets,” because it helps us visualize a full bucket as contributing to our wellbeing, whereas an empty bucket suffers wellbeing.
The wellbeing framework I’m using can be found at slathy.com. It is based on what I’ve found we absolutely cannot survive without, and what we need to not just survive, but also thrive.
